2011 csd Preview – C.C. Sabathia

C.C. Sabathia is the ace of the Yankees pitching staff. As a White Sox fan I was very excited to see him go to the Yankees. That way he would not face the Sox near as many times as he had with the Indians. (more…)

2011 csd Preview – Mariano Rivera

I really don’t think that I can say anything here that hasn’t already been said about Mariano. He is one of the best (if not the best) closers this game has seen. He has a great shot to get to 600 saves this year, and then just after that he can become the all time saves leader by passing Trevor Hoffman. This could be a historic year for the sure fire Hall of Famer. (more…)

2011 csd Preview – Francisco Cervelli

I saw Cervelli last season when the Yankees were in Chicago. He is a talented young catcher that is sitting right now on the depth chart behind Russell Martin and Jorge Posada. The Yankees might have the most depth at catcher right now. With Posada aging Cervelli was scheduled to be the backup to Martin coming into the season. Of course things change quickly, and a foot injury has put Cervelli behind this spring. (more…)

2011 csd Preview – Damaso Marte

Damaso was a huge part of the World Series run in 2005. When he was on he was tough to beat. For some reason though he was not that consistent. He has played the last couple of seasons for the Yankees, but has been hampered by injuries. (more…)

1985 Fleer – Andruw Jones

Here is yet another card of Andruw. He really just seemed to like to be photographed. He had a swing that no matter when the picture was snapped seemed to look good. Towards the end of the season he did not make contact very often, but it looked good. He is now a member of the Yankees so I had better get some of my cards of him out there before the season starts. (more…)

1972 Topps – Andruw Jones

Continuing the theme of former Sox players here is a 1972 Topps card of Andruw Jones. Andruw was one of my favorite targets to photograph during his one season with the White Sox. He did not pan out like the Sox brass had hoped he would though, and he was not signed again this season. He is currently playing with the Yankees. (more…)

2011 csd Preview – Andruw Jones

Today I found out that Andruw Jones had signed with the Yankees. I was kind of sad because I enjoyed watching him while he was a member of the White Sox. I thought that in honor of his signing I would make my first Yankee card of the set. The Sox uniform works fairly well as a Yankee uniform if you ignore the name on the back, and don’t look too closely. I might have a couple tweaks to the front of the Yankee card before the real set comes out. I like the picture of one of Andruw’s big swings. He was fun to photograph because he had a great swing. It was all out, and allowed for some nice shots. (more…)
