1989 Pro Set – Ahman Green

I made this card last year after the Packers won the Super Bowl. Green was a huge part of past Packers success when he came back to help a team that was having depth issues in 2009. He was quite a bit bigger, but still was not too bad. In fact they had him returning kicks right away.  (more…)

1991 Upper Deck – Aaron Rodgers

For the final card tonight celebrating the one year anniversary of the Packers Super Bowl win I thought that I would post this card of the Super Bowl MVP from last year. Aaron is a fun player to watch, and he really makes losing Brett Favre very bearable. Who would have thought that someone could come in and exceed what Favre accomplished? Aaron has done that and then some. (more…)

1988 Topps Football – Charles Woodson

One year ago today the Packers won the Super Bowl. I thought that in honor of the anniversary I would post some cards that I made last year right after the Packers won the big game. I was hoping that they would be playing in Indy this past weekend, but of course that was not meant to be. Instead of celebrating another win I guess I will have to relive the big win last year. (more…)

1986 McDonald’s – James Jones

Here is another card that I made last season while the Packers were on their way to the Super Bowl. I thought that since they opened up the playoffs today that I would try and post the rest of my cards from then. If they can somehow make it back to the Super Bowl then I will have an empty folder to fill with new Packer cards.  (more…)

1989 Pro Set – Clay Matthews

Clay is a player that I did not know too much about when he was drafted by the Packers. He was not the big splash that you like to see teams make with their early draft picks. At least so I thought. He has become a force in the league that helped propel the team to the Super Bowl win last season. (more…)

1986 McDonald’s – Ryan Grant

Tonight there is a very slim chance that I attend the Packers game in Indy so I thought I would post some more of the cards that I made over the winter after the Pack won the Super Bowl. This McDonald’s design is very cool to me because I could not get them at the time. Where I lived I had to settle for Bears cards. Now through the magic of Photoshop I can have my own. (more…)

1989 Pro Set – Aaron Rodgers

What would it be if I did not post a Packer card during the day. I still have a few of these so they will just keep popping up for a while I guess. I was going to just post all Packer cards, but I think that would get too boring. This card really reminds me of a card from back in 1989. I haven’t gone through my old cards yet, but it has to be someone. (more…)

1984 Topps – Aaron Rodgers

This was the first Packers card that I made after the Super Bowl. I have always liked this set so I thought I would try and make a card from it. I liked it so much that the other ones just sprung up. I basically took a card from a Packer Pro Bowl player and doctored it a little. Instead of the Pro Bowl line I changed it to Super Bowl MVP. The only problem is that I can never seem to get angled text to look right. It was an issue that I fought all of last year making the 1985 Topps tribute cards. (more…)

1989 Pro Set – Greg Jennings

For a while Sunday I thought that Jennings might get the MVP nod. He caught a couple touchdown passes as well as the big third down catch that kept the final touchdown drive alive. I like Jennings because he is a good receiver, and because he also wear the number 85 which was my number in high school. Of course he sees the field so the number is where the comparison ends. Like Max McGee who wore #85 and helped win Super Bowl I Jennings stepped up when his teammates went down. I took this picture in 2009 at the Packers game against the Vikings. This picture was a frame ahead of the Jennings picture that appears on the special Super Bowl set I put out on gameday. (more…)

1986 McDonald’s – Charles Woodson

I really wanted these cards when they came out originally. That might be why I made a few of these yesterday. They will be coming out throughout the week because I don’t want to flood the site with the same type of card. These cards really look good, and I like how my pictures look on them. It is no surprise then that I made a few of them. (more…)

1991 Upper Deck – Ryan Grant

I know that he wasn’t on the active list this season, but the Packers have a very good running back in Ryan Grant. I decided that I couldn’t just leave out players just because they weren’t playing in the Super Bowl. This is my card set, not a team picture. As with the other cards in this Packer set I have taken an actual Packers card from the past, and modified it for my own purposes. In this case I took the 1991 Upper Deck Tony Mandarich card, and cut out the picture and changed the name and position. (more…)

1977 Topps – Charles Woodson

green bay packersI really thought Charles Woodson was going to have a big game yesterday. What I didn’t expect was him to break his collarbone trying to make an interception in the first half. You could see how much pain he was in during the second half when he was trying to cheer his team on. The game changing effect I thought he was going to have almost went the other way. (more…)

1979 Topps – Donald Driver

Here is the second retro card that I have done for the Packers. I wanted to do an older Donald Driver so I tried to find a good card to put him on. What better card than a 1979 Topps James Lofton? I liked the look of the card, and thought that I had just the picture to put on it. (more…)

1986 McDonald’s – Aaron Rodgers

This site may shift gears for a couple of days. I love to make baseball cards, and I have had no success with football cards. I tried to make two custom sets that did not look good in my eyes. With the Packers winning the Super Bowl last night I decided to just take some Packer pictures that I had and put them on older cards. I had some good results doing that. This week I will still be issuing my preview set for baseball, but I will sprinkle in a few Packer cards. (more…)

2011 csd Super Bowl – Charles Woodson

The last time the Packers won the Super Bowl they did it with the help of a former Michigan Heisman Trophy winner. Desmond Howard was the MVP of the game, and was obviously a huge part of the win. This year the Packers have another former Heisman winner in Charles Woodson. Charles was a dynamic force for Michigan at cornerback. He was such a force that he is the only defensive player that has won the award. (more…)

2011 csd Super Bowl – Clay Matthews

The third card in my set is of linebacker Clay Matthews. I like the picture on the front because it shows him bearing down on Brett Favre who is handing the ball of to Adrian Peterson. Matthews led the charge on this play to keep Peterson behind the line of scrimmage. (more…)

2011 csd Super Bowl – A.J. Hawk

Since my Packers are in the Super Bowl today I thought I would make a few cards to commemorate the day. I cheated and just used the template for the 2011 baseball set. I made a few modifications so that it would work for football I was a little leery of the football in the upper corner, but just went with it. Overall I like how the cards turned out. I have a few that I made that I will put out as the day goes on tomorrow. (more…)
