1985 Topps Famous Lineage – Jayson Werth

Since it is Father’s Day I thought that I would put out some of my Famous Lineage cards where the player is featured with his father. Part of the cool thing about this set is finding out some things that I did not know. Until I saw it on the Baseball Almanac I never knew that Jayson’s father played in the majors. (more…)

2011 csd Preview – Brad Lidge

Brad has gone from being the Big East player of the year while at Notre Dame to getting the last out in the 2008 World Series as the Phillies closer. He is a veteran closer that now has over 200 saves. (more…)

2011 csd Preview – Jimmy Rollins

Jimmy is a fun player to watch. He is very good at what he does for one. When he has a microphone on him for TV you realize that after he is done playing he could end up in a studio. (more…)

2011 csd Preview – Ryan Howard

Ryan is one of the more feared hitters in baseball. He really can hit the ball a ton. He came to Philly and quickly made Jim Thome expendable. That is saying a lot. He is can hit the ball a ton. When I saw him play last year he really disappointed a lot of Cub fans. When he came up in batting practice he was working on some things, and did not even try for a home run. A lot of people brought their gloves to catch one of his homers. I think the people on the street had a better chance though. (more…)

2011 csd Preview – Jamie Moyer

Even though he is not on the Phillies I made this card of Jamie anyway. I wanted to make a card of him, and since he does not currently have a team using his last team seemed to be the way to go. Jamie is sitting out this season, but will attempt a comeback next season at the age of 49. (more…)

2011 csd Preview – Ben Francisco

Ben makes the set based on a night that I spent watching him get heckled last July. The fans were really rough on him all game. He did get some payback as he hit a home run in the ninth inning, but it was too little too late as the Phillies lost 11-6. (more…)

2011 csd Preview – Shane Victorino

Shane is a player that has an interesting story. He was selected in the Rule 5 draft twice. It took him a while to crack the bigs, but once he did he became a fan favorite. He got a little playing time when Aaron Rowand was injured, then more when Bobby Abreu was traded, and has been a fixture ever since. (more…)

2011 csd Preview – Jose Contreras

As I said in a post a couple of days ago I was never too high on Jose as a member of the White Sox until his last season with the club. He has now had a successful run with Philly as a reliever. I really like the look of this card. The red on the side really looks great. (more…)

2011 csd Preview – Roy Halladay

Since Roy is the cover boy for the New MLB 2k11 game that came out today I thought that I would end the night with a couple cards of the ace pitcher. I am really starting to like my set again. For a while I was having too much fun with other cards, but I have been having fun making some of these teams that I have not made before. I wanted to try and make as many teams before the season started so that I had a template when I started getting the new pictures in. It turns out I am making a completely new set in the process. I guess this is like my version of the Topps Opening Day set. (more…)

1989 Upper Deck – Jimmy Rollins

Saturation Saturday continues with this card of Jimmy Rollins. When I saw the Phillies play the Cubs in July I was worried that my seats in the bleachers would prevent me from seeing the Phillies stars. It turned out I did not get the pictures that I would have liked to get of Roy Halladay and Ryan Howard. (more…)

1985 Topps – Jamie Moyer

Jamie almost had this card for real. He is one of the few players in the league that was playing when I was really collecting cards. He will not play this season due to injury, but has left the door open to play next season. (more…)

1985 Topps – Cole Hamels

Cole is another of the Phillies players I saw when they came to Chicago. The team is so full of stars that I ended up with quite a few cards from that day even though I was in the bleachers where good pictures are hard to come by. Luckily the Phillies seemed to like to turn and look at the crowd during batting practice so I got a few pictures that were not the backs of their warm up jerseys. Cole was getting some heat from the Wrigley crowd as is expected I guess, but just gave them looks as if to say “I make millions how about you?” I caught him one of those times, and thought it would look good on a card. (more…)

Jayson Werth

With only a few days left this year I thought that I would post the last of my 2010 cards. I have been so busy lately that for some reason I have let this site go by the wayside. I decided that I had better finish off this set before the next season starts. (more…)
