1988 Topps Football – Charles Woodson

One year ago today the Packers won the Super Bowl. I thought that in honor of the anniversary I would post some cards that I made last year right after the Packers won the big game. I was hoping that they would be playing in Indy this past weekend, but of course that was not meant to be. Instead of celebrating another win I guess I will have to relive the big win last year. (more…)

1988 Topps – Rocky Gale

So many cards to post and so little time to do it. I made this card back in May, and still have not gotten around to posting it. It is the last of my ’88 Topps cards for the Fort Wayne Tincaps. I made these cards for the backs of my 2011 csd Custom cards. (more…)

1988 Topps – Matt Jackson

Matt pitched game two of a doubleheader that I saw earlier this season. He was not the pitcher that I was looking forward to seeing, but he had the better game of the two by far. As with Adam Dominick he warmed up right in front of me giving me a great view to get a couple of pictures from. (more…)

1988 Topps – Adam Dominick

It has been a few weeks since I had a Minor League Monday segment on this site. Today seems like a good day to bring it back. I would like to post some of these cards that have just been sitting in a folder since April. Let’s see how many I can get through. (more…)

1988 Topps – Chris Getz

I have posted a few Royals cards over the last couple of days. For some reason I just love how their team colors look on a card. One of those that I loved as a kid was the 1988 Topps cards. I really have the Bo Jackson and George Brett cards stuck in my head. I thought that I would give the card a try tonight. (more…)

1988 Topps – Matt Branham

When going to see the Tincaps play in South Bend I knew that there were a few good Padres prospects on that team. The two big named outfielders were not playing. One of the pitchers though was throwing in game one. That was Matt Branham. Out of the two pitchers to go that day Matt had the worse day, but he is still thought highly off in their organization. (more…)

1988 Topps – Bradin Hagens

Bradin is another player that was on the ‘Hawks last season. Most of the time those guys are not with the team very long. Keon Broxton was already moved up just a couple of weeks into the season. Bradin is a solid player that I hope can make that move up soon. (more…)

1988 Topps – Emmanuel Quiles

Emmanuel will probably never make the Major Leagues. He has been knocking around the minors, and has not moved above the single A level. In the true spirit of this blog though if he caught a game I will make a card of him. This card was made so that I had something to put on the back of my 2011 custom card. I used the ’88 Topps design for all of the Tincap players. It was my newest design at the time so I made it work. It also has the Tincap colors on it. (more…)

1988 Topps – Jake Blackwood

Jake had a monster game in a losing effort against the Silverhawks in game one of a doubleheader. He started off with a home run, and added a double and a triple before it was all over. He did well in his only three trips to the plate, and I was left to wonder if he could have hit for the cycle if the full nine innings were played. (more…)

2011 csd Custom – Chris Jarrett

Chris is another player playing part of his second season with the Silverhawks. He has bounced around the lineup so far this year, but is still looking to make his mark with the team. (more…)

1988 Topps – Chris Jarrett

This was the second ’88 Topps card that I attempted. I changed the name plate to be a color other than pink, but left the card pretty much the same as the White Sox card. The colors were close enough to the Silverhawks colors to make it work. I do like how it looks even though it really isn’t a copy of the ’88 Topps card. (more…)

1988 Topps – John Danks

During the week one of my Twitter followers suggested that I try a card from the 1988 Topps set. I really have been holding off on the set for a couple of reasons, but thought that I would give it a try. What I came up with was not an exact replica, but more of a tribute. I tried my best to re-create the card, but there are a couple things that may stand out right away. I like how it looks from afar though. I was never crazy about the color choices for this set. I may have to try an alternate version with better colors before it is all said and done. (more…)

1988 Topps – Donald Driver

Like the Woodson McDonald’s card I put out earlier today I like the way Donald is holding the ball in this picture. He really looks like the ball is stuck in his hand. I took this picture yet again in 2009 during pregame warmups. Donald had just finished a curl route where he caught the ball and turned up field. (more…)
