2010 Football – Brian Kelly

brian kellyThis is how far behind I am on this blog. I have some of the 2010 custom football cards that I made that I have never released. This was a set that started as a tribute to the 1985 Topps Football card, and then morphed into what you see above. It was a simple and clean design that allowed me to show off my pictures a bit more. In the end I never really followed through on it, and I only made a handful of cards. (more…)

1985 Topps Famous Lineage – Austin Collinsworth

Last weekend I saw Austin play against the Boilers under the lights. My seat was not the greatest so I had very few chances to get a picture of him. On one punt though he downed the ball in front of me allowing me to get the picture for this card. I knew that I wanted to make this card so I was lucky to get at least a picture to put on it. (more…)

1984 Topps – Tom Zbikowski

Tom was an exciting player for the Irish. He was a very good safety who also had a knack for returning kicks. He just ran up the field which in the end all the good returners do. He is the last card in the countdown simply because I like it the best. (more…)

1984 Topps – Jimmy Clausen

Here is the first Notre Dame card in the ’84 Topps format. I really like how the Notre Dame cards look. I may have to make a couple more with some pictures that I get tonight. I grew up a die hard Notre Dame fan before going to school at Purdue. That is what makes this game so special to me, and why I needed a countdown leading up to it. (more…)

1984 Topps – Jeff Manship

While looking at some of the ’84 Topps cards that I had already made today I saw one of former Notre Dame hurler Jeff Manship. I have been meaning to release the card, but for some reason I never did. Last night he was part of a combined no-hitter for the Twins Triple A team in Rochester. He started the game, and it is great that he gets some publicity. Jeff was part of the great staff in 2006 for the Irish that also included Tom Thornton and Jeff Samardzija. (more…)

Ryan Connolly

Ryan was part of the talented Irish outfield this past season. All of the outfielders had speed on their side. If a ball seemed like it was in the gap you had to wait a minute before making that judgment. These guys could cover some ground. (more…)

Ryan Sharpley

Ryan is the brother of former Irish first baseman Evan Sharpley. Evan might be more well known as the quarterback for the Notre Dame football team. Ryan is a good pitcher in his own right for the Irish. (more…)

Steve Sabatino

Here is another of the Irish players that I was able to see this season. (more…)

Frank Desico

Frank is one of those scrappy second basemen that it seems like every team needs. (more…)

David Mills

David was one of the bright spots for the Notre Dame team this season. This picture was taken two days after he hit a walk off homer to win a game that should have been rained out. (more…)
