1989 Upper Deck – Miguel Cabrera
This is the same picture as the ’67 Topps card, but I felt that Miguel really needed a couple of more cards on here because of his fantastic accomplishment. I really am in awe of the fact that one man can lead the big three categories. I never thought I would see it. There are just too many good players in the league, and this year Miguel (more…)
1967 Topps – Miguel Cabrera
This is a very quickly done card to commemorate the achievement by the Tigers first baseman. I really never thought that I would see a triple crown in my lifetime. I guess that it was bound to happen, and it is amazing that it did. This seems like a simple design to copy, but for some reason Photoshop just wasn’t giving me the fonts that I wanted. In ’67 all the shots usually had (more…)
1987 Topps – Kevin Eichhorn
I have already released several cards of Kevin. I remember when his dad was a hot rookie card to have so it was only natural that I made a few cards of him. I was already making the Whitecaps team set in the ’87 Topps style so I made one more while I had the template open to get Kevin in the set. (more…)
1987 Topps – Kyle Ryan
I only have a couple more of the cards that I made for the backs of my ’11 csd Custom set for the Midwest League opponents of the Silverhawks to go. Both cards are of West Michigan Whitecap players. (more…)
2011 csd All Star Glossy – Miguel Cabrera
Since he came into the league with the Marlins Miguel Cabrera has been a force. He is now playing in what should be another post season after helping Detroit claim what you would guess in the Central. Both the Indians and Sox are so far back that it would take a monumental collapse by Detroit for either team to have a shot. (more…)
2011 csd All Star Glossy – Jhonny Peralta
Since I have pretty much conceded the season to the Tigers now I thought that the next couple of cards should feature them. Jhonny was a late season pick up last year, and he has helped them to the Division title this season. (more…)
2011 csd All Star Glossy – Rob Brantly
Here is yet another All Star Glossy card featuring a Midwest League All Star. I saw Rob play very early this season in South Bend. For some reason I have seen many West Michigan Whitecaps games. That day I added two more as rain allowed me to see a doubleheader. (more…)
2011 csd All Star Glossy – Hernan Perez
Today I decided to get some of my creations on this site since I have been without internet for so long. I really need to get some of my 2011 creations out there before 2012 gets here. Perez is another player who had a good game against the Silverhawks that used that as a springboard to an All Star selection. (more…)
1987 Topps – Nick Castellanos
When I go and see a minor league team for the first time I always check out the roster for players that are highly regarded. Nick was very highly thought of in the Tigers organization. I don’t know if he is living up to expectations, but he is still one of the players on their top 10 list. (more…)
2011 csd All Star Glossy – Jose Valverde
Jose was picked to represent Detroit at the All Star game tonight in Arizona. He is a hard throwing righty for the Tigers. As I have said before I am releasing a bunch of my fake all star cards today because of the game tonight. (more…)
1989 Upper Deck – Kevin Eichhorn
I took a few pictures of Kevin so that I was sure to get a good one for my set. Being the son of a former big league player I knew that he would have at least a couple of cards in the set. I had enough pictures of him that I liked though that it allowed me to make some extra cards of him. This is one of those. (more…)
2011 csd Custom – Luis Sanz
Luis is the backup catcher for West Michigan. Minor League Monday will end with this backstops 2011 custom card. Part of the fun of seeing a doubleheader in the Midwest League is that you get to see many players all in one day. Normally I would have just seen the regular catcher for West Michigan Rob Brantly. Because of the back to back games I was able to see Luis play. (more…)
1987 Topps – Rob Brantly
Rob is the catcher for the West Michigan Whitecaps. Minor League Monday continues as this ’87 Topps card of Rob is released. (more…)
2011 csd Custom – Jeff Rowland
Jeff probably would not have been in this set, but he hit a ball that landed near me for a ground rule double in the second game of a doubleheader against the South Bend Silverhawks. (more…)
1987 Topps – Luis Sanz
Minor League Monday starts off with a card of the backup catcher for the West Michigan Whitecaps. I had great seats to get some pictures of the bullpen during a doubleheader so I took full advantage of them. Being a catcher Luis gets a spot in the set. (more…)
1987 Topps – Jeff Rowland
This card of Jeff continues Minor League Monday. When I made my custom cards for the Whitecaps I needed to have cards to put on the back. Laziness dictated that I use one template. I just made all of the West Michigan cards from my ’87 Topps template. (more…)
1985 Topps Famous Lineage – Kevin Eichhorn
Kevin is the second card in the revamped Famous Lineage series. This is actually the reason I resurrected the set. I see a few kids every year in the minors who are relation to former ballplayers. Most are sons of the former players, but in order to get all the players in the set I changed the name to Famous Lineage. (more…)
2011 csd Custom – Ben Olglivie
Part of the fun of going to these minor league games is seeing some stars from the past on the field. I remember Ben as a member of the Milwaukee Brewers. He played for much of the 80’s as a member of their team. I really thought that he played longer than he did before looking him up for this card, but he did have a lengthy career. (more…)
2011 csd Custom – Billy Nowlin
I am still trying to figure out exactly how I am going to do this. For most of the Midwest League players I am going to have two cards of them to make one. Do I release both of them at the same time? I really only release minor league cards on Mondays so it will take a while to get them all out at this rate. That being said it is a long off season. (more…)
1987 Topps – Billy Nowlin
We start off Minor League Monday with a card of one of the players that has already made his way into the Cove this season. Billy is a player who appears to have some talents at the plate. It is hard for me to judge as I only saw him play two games, but he has a great swing. (more…)
2011 csd Custom – Kevin Eichhorn
Here is the first minor league card in the 2011 set. Kevin Eichhorn is the son of former Toronto Blue Jay Mark Eichhorn. I enjoyed watching him pitch yesterday, and I still wonder why he was pulled before getting the one out that would have made him eligible for the win. I guess the pitch counts are pretty tight in the minors. (more…)
1986 Topps – Kevin Eichhorn
I had to make this card so that I could make the next one. Kevin is the son of former Major League pitcher Mark Eichhorn. I thought that for my custom card it would be great to have a 1986 Topps card for the back. The ’86 Topps card was the first for Mark so I thought it would be cool to have one for his son. Of course That meant I had to make the card. It did not take too long though. (more…)
1989 Upper Deck – Curtis Granderson
Curtis is one of the good guys in baseball. I have seen him play a few times, and he always seems to enjoy what he is doing. He even takes the time to interact with the fans. He is another guy who just seems to ‘get it.’ (more…)
2011 csd Preview – Austin Jackson
Austin is a very good young outfielder for the Tigers. He was so good in fact that the Tigers traded away a local favorite Curtis Granderson. I tried something new on this card. I added an outline around the number on the card. I really like how it looks, and I think that the real set will have it. (more…)
