1985 Donruss – Christian Colon Rated Rookie
Over the winter I had made a few cards up of players that I have seen that are either rated high by the scouts, or that I really liked. I used an old ’85 Donruss template to make up my own rated rookie set. This is one of those cards that I made. I may bring this set back, but I will have to update the ’85 Donruss template first. I have one more card that I could release, but the player has already fallen off the map. That shows you what I know about players that are on their way up. (more…)
Christian Colon
This Cal State Fullerton shortstop was taken 4th in the MLB draft tonight by the Kansas City Royals. I missed him earlier when I was taking Titan players and putting them in this set. I guess it makes sense though that I skipped him so that I could post this tonight. Sometimes things just work out for the best. Maybe I will get to see him play in the minors this season as well. Gary Brown
I have to be honest on this one. I was lucky enough to see Cal State Fulleton play earlier this season when I was in Washington. I wanted to find a good enough picture to get a card in the set, and this was one that stood out. It was not until I looked up Gary that I found out that he is a really good prospect. One baseball site has him as the 58th best prospect out of college. I vividly remember seeing Kurt Suzuki playing for Fullerton in the College World Series in 2004. I followed his career right up until I saw him play for the A’s in person. Maybe the same can happen with Brown. (more…)
