Custom 1985 Topps Jordan Minch
One site that will always mean a lot to me is the 1985 Topps set. It was the first real set that I completed by buying packs. Remember when packs where 35 cents each, and a box cost under $20? As I get this site back up again I thought a few new 1985 Topps cards could be the ones to do it.
Back At It
After a small hiatus I decided to bring this site back online. It has some terrible photos of mine on it. It also has some pretty cool creations on it. I don’t know where I am headed with this, but I thought that it would be cool to put it back up, and see what happens.
Since I posted the single card of Cory earlier today I thought that I would post this famous lineage card that I made for Cory and his brother Colby. Since this is my idea I used a card of Colby that I made in 2010 for my first (more…)
One of my favorite parts of this blog used to be the famous lineage cards that I came up with. It was a hat tip to the Father-Son cards that Topps put out in 1985. I expanded the notion a bit so that I could include other relation.I loved the idea of seeing the kids of the players that I grew up watching on the diamond. Sometimes though it would be a nephew or grandson playing. I wanted to show them all. When I saw Ivan DeJesus warming up for the Indianapolis Indians Tuesday I knew that I would be reviving this small set. (more…)
Sandy has always been a favorite player of mine. That might be why I have included him twice in this set. I always liked the father and son set that Topps put out in 1985. I wanted to re-create it, but also to make it a little broader. With that in mind I was now able to make a card like this that showed Sandy next to his Hall of Fame brother Robby. (more…)
Since today is Opening Day for the Sox I thought that I would post a couple of cards of the team from the South Side of Chicago. If you haven’t figured out by looking at this site yet that I like the White Sox than you haven’t really been looking at this site. One of the guys that I really will be rooting for this season is Alex Rios. Alex has shown what kind of player that he can be, but sometimes I think that he is his own worst enemy. I hope that he can have another season like we know that he can have this year. (more…)
Here is the third installment of the Gary Carter Tribute that is modeled after the 1986 Topps tribute set to Pete Rose. The tribute set starts to get into cards here that I collected heavily as a kid. It also gets into Gary’s Mets career with the ’85 Topps traded card of Gary. I decided to leave the All Star and Record Breaker cards out for now. They may come back later in the set, but for now they really would have messed everything up. (more…)
This is yet another card that was made for the sole purpose of being on the back of my 2011 custom card. I never made the regular card so this card for the back never was released. Marcos has a very cool delivery so I am sad that the card was never made. (more…)
