1985 Topps Famous Lineage – Sandy Alomar Jr.

This is a card that I was excited to release. While coming up with a couple of extra cards for this father’s day celebration I wondered why I had not thought about using Sandy. He is a coach now, but his father did play Major League ball and so did Sandy. I always liked Sandy, and he just missed being in the ’85 set by a few years. Now in my mind he has completed his journey. (more…)

1985 Topps Famous Lineage – Wally Backman Jr.

I have seen Wally play Independent ball a couple of times now. The first time was for the Joliet Jackhammers with his father as the manager. Most recently I saw him play for the Sioux City Explorers of the American Association. I always liked Wally so it was a given that I would get this card into the set. Father’s day seemed like a great day to roll some of these cards out. (more…)

1985 Topps Famous Lineage – James Russell

Somehow last season I forgot to post a Famous Lineage card of James. His father Jeff played in the big leagues when I was a kid. I am glad that I waited so that I could post this card now. I fixed this template a bit since last year so I think that I have made it look a little better this season. (more…)

1985 Topps Famous Lineage – Jason Kendall

Before making some cards for Father’s Day I had no idea that Jason’s father played in the bigs. I saw his name on the Baseball Almanac list so I knew that I had to make a card for him. I have always enjoyed watching Jason play so it was great to make this card for him. (more…)

1985 Topps Famous Lineage – Joel Skinner

Joel was part of the actual Father-Son subset in 1985. He was a member of the Sox then so of course I have a few of them. He is now the bench coach for the Oakland Athletics. I thought that it would be cool to make this card just to see how things have changed in the last 26 years. (more…)

1985 Topps Famous Lineage – Jayson Werth

Since it is Father’s Day I thought that I would put out some of my Famous Lineage cards where the player is featured with his father. Part of the cool thing about this set is finding out some things that I did not know. Until I saw it on the Baseball Almanac I never knew that Jayson’s father played in the majors. (more…)

2011 Gypsy Queen – Sammy Sosa

I thought I would try an older picture with this set. This picture was taken with a camera that was not that great. The picture looks a little weird, but it is not too far off. I thought that it would be interesting to see how the lower quality pictures did with this set. (more…)

1987 Topps – Dan Haren

I like this set, and thanks to the snowpocolypse I have many of them sitting in a folder waiting to be showcased on this site. Dan is no longer with the Diamondbacks, but he was their ace for a few years. He was part of the draw when I went to see Arizona at Wrigley last season. He is now with the Angels so he has not changed colors too much. (more…)

2011 Gypsy Queen – Brad Mumma

I enjoyed making a few cards with the Gypsy Queen template. I didn’t want to use players who could be in the set so I branched out to find some players who I thought would make interesting subjects for these cards. Brad Mumma was a local ballplayer who had a decent pro career. He never made the majors, but was a solid pitcher. He is from my hometown so he will have a few cards on this site. (more…)

1987 Fleer – Justin Upton

With the Sox playing at Arizona tonight I thought that I would release a couple cards of the D-Backs. Justin Upton is one of the players that I saw playing in A-ball for the local South Bend Silverhawks. He was the #1 pick of the 2006 draft so we knew that he had the potential to be very good. He has started to show that great potential in the Majors. (more…)
