merging my pictures and cards

1985 Fleer – Carlos Peguero

Carlos worked his way onto this site. I had never heard of him until yesterday. He was taking some balls in left field when I noticed him during batting practice Wednesday. When he came up to the plate in BP he was the only one in his group going yard. I would only pay attention when he came up, but he was hitting the balls way too far to my left for me to get to. Then he hit one right at me. I only had to move a row or two down, and I put my mitt up and had my first MLB ball of the season.

Because he hit me a ball I decided to give him a 2011 custom card. In order to make the card I had to make this one for the back. I chose a shot of him in the field because it really looked like it belonged on this card. I have an action shot of him that will go on his 2011 card. This picture with it’s lack of action seemed to fit perfect. I also like the fact that my name is on his sleeve. I like to put pictures with special patches on the cards, and when it is my name that makes it even cooler.

  1. That’s awesome! Did you catch it on the fly?

    • Yeah, a ‘ballhawk’ had his mitt in front of me, but he missed judged it by a row. I reached up just above his mitt and snagged it.

  2. Very cool, loving the 1985 Fleer, I’ll have to put a couple on my site at some point. Very cool about the ball too. I don’t go to too many MLB games but I have probably been to around 25 and have yet to get a ball.

Interesting point about the sleeve patches. They are very cool to see in cards. It helps lay out a timeline for when the picture was taken. It also gives the picture a little more “story.” Nice work, keep it up.
