1985 Topps – Ozzie Smith
The final five cards in this set features four Hall of Famers, and one that I wish would be. The first of those is Ozzie Smith. Growing up he was the man. He was an acrobatic shortstop known for his fielding more than his hitting. His home run in game five of the NLCS led to one of my favorite moments in baseball. Jack Buck’s famous call of “Go Crazy Folks, Go Crazy.” Since they are forever linked in my mind I thought that it would be cool to have them back to back on the site.
This is the last of the pictures I took outside of Busch Stadium to make the set. I like how these older cards looked in the 1985 Topps set. Since Ozzie had one of his biggest moments in 1985 I thought it would be cool to have him in the set. He actually had a 1985 Topps card. Two of the last five can say that.
