1981 Fleer – Gordon Beckham

Gordon Beckham has been the first card of many types of cards that I have made. Why not be the first ’81 Fleer card. The ’81 Fleer set was the first set that Fleer made since the 60’s. Fleer sued Topps in the 70’s so that they could produce a card set. The !981 set was the first set that they made after the lawsuit. It was also the only Fleer set to be issued with gum. They did not have gum in packs in 1982. Apparently the Topps exclusivity contract only applied to cards issued with gum. Topps wanted the gum stained card all to themselves.
