2009 Highlight – Ryan Theriot Hits Two Home Runs
Last season I attended my only Cubs game early in the year. I got a last minute call to see if I wanted to go and watch the game from some really great seats. How could you turn that down? I went to the game to see the rematch between Derrek Lee and Chris Young. Two years earlier the two went at it. Pictures from that day can be found in this set.
In the first inning Adrian Gonzalez hit a two run shot to put the Padres up 2-0. In the bottom of that inning Soriano led off for the Cubs with a home run, and Ryan Theriot followed with one of his own. Soto knocked in a run to give the Cubs a 3-2 lead after one.Theriot hit his second homer of the day in the 4th inning to put the Cubs up even more. Gonzalez homered in the sixth, but the Padres needed more than just one guy to win the game. I had a blast even with the rain, and the game rightly deserves a place in the 2009 highlights.
I had a great day taking pictures that night. I had good seats, and as the game moved on and the rain came in I got some really good ones that have been used in this set. This one of Theriot was used because he was the star of the day.
