merging my pictures and cards

Ian Nielsen

This is the second collegiate player in the set that played his high school ball in my hometown of LaPorte, Indiana. Ian Nielson is a solid first baseman for the Ball State Cardinals. He started from day one at first, and was even named to the Louisville Slugger Freshman All American team as a freshman last season. Ian is the career home run leader at LaPorte High School along with holding numerous single season records. This is at a storied high school program. He is a player to keep an eye on for sure.

I took this picture of Ian last season when his Cardinals came to South Bend to face the Irish. He had a good game, and it was cool to see another hometown boy doing well.

    Hi,

I’m a sportswriter for the NWI Times. In the midst of looking up something on college baseball player Ian Neilsen, I happened upon your website and was pretty impressed with what I saw.

I don’t know if you receive the paper, but one of the things I do is a weekly sports memorabilia column. I have been a card collector myself for a number of years and am always looking for new subjects to write about. Seeing as you mentioned that LaPorte is your hometown, I’m wondering if you’d be interested in having me profile you in an upcoming column.

Please let me know if you’d like to talk about your work. As I said, your cards are very nice-looking, and I’d be interested in learning how you got involved in this particular capacity.

Thanks for your time and I hope to hear from you.
