Casey Gaynor
Casey is an interesting pick for the set. He was pitching against the Irish earlier in the season. During that game Gaynor struck out his 200th batter in a Rutgers uniform. Success is nothing new for Gaynor, he was on the Little League team that won the Little League World Series in 1998. He holds numerous records at Rutgers, and fell just eight strikeouts shy of being the all time leader in school history. It will be interesting to see where he ends up playing professional ball.
As I have said before, sometimes the follow through is the most interesting part of the pitch. Gaynor has one of those follow throughs that I love to see. You can see how much torque he has put on his body by the way his leg is rising up over his head. This is a classic pose for a pitcher that makes for a great card.
