2009 Highlights – Opening Day

Looking at the 1985 set they started it off with a record breaker set. I did not really witness any records last year or this year, but I did see some great games. I thought I would make a card similar to the record breaker card with highlights from last season. Here is the first of those. I guess it would be card #1 in my set if I had to number them.

Last year was the first time that I had been to an Opening Day when it was actually an Opening Day. The previous season I went to the Sox opener, but it was a week into the season. With the new President from Chicago it was rumored that Barack Obama would throw out the first pitch. Instead we got a Sox legend Billy Pierce. It was great to see a Sox legend pitch in person. Even if it was just a first pitch. The Sox beat the Royals to get the season off to a great start.

He is kind of the forgotten guy in Chicago. I was happy that they gave him the statue, and was happy to fit him in.
